Data helps employers manage health, disability and productivity programs

SAN FRANCISCO – Sept. 27, 2018 –The non-profit Integrated Benefits Institute has released its latest reports from the nation’s largest disability/leave benchmarking database used by employers, brokers and other benefits professionals to help employers assess the impact of their health and productivity programs as compared to similar organizations.

“For employers facing record low unemployment, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to attract and retain a qualified workforce – and even more challenging to replace employees due to illness or disability,” said Thomas Parry, PhD, IBI President. “IBI’s benchmarking reports help employers better identify how they compare with their peers, the diagnoses that are driving lost work time and offer insights for opportunities to improve the health and productivity of their workforce.”

This benchmarking data tool offers industry-specific short-term disability, long-term disability, federal Family and Medical Leave and workers’ compensation reports based on 6.5 million claims from more than 69,000 employer policies. Data were provided by 15 major data providers and span 1,500+ SIC (Standard Industrial Classification) codes.

Employers can access high-level benchmarks for their industry as part of an IBI membership which is complimentary. Report access and additional details can be found on the IBI benchmarking page.
